Why donate to an individual artist’s studio practice?
Most visual artists do not have salaries, wages, or benefits, instead they must chase costly, time-consuming, and competitive grants, exhibits, and gallery shows, working for stipends, honorariums, and 50-70% commissions on all potential sales.
Contributions to this artist’s fund sustains Ajumma Factory, a Georgetown, Seattle art studio.
Donations to Ajumma Factory will help fund community projects and local collaborations:
Maintaining an inventory of affordable, high-quality prints in Seattle’s Chinatown and Georgetown neighborhoods (mam’s books, Wing Luke Museum, SlipStitch Studio).
Providing resources, experience for new and emerging artists from self-taught backgrounds.
